What is your Discipline Policy?

If a behavior problem is constant or if a behavior poses a threat to the safety or well-being of one's self, the other campers or staff, Discover reserves the right to dismiss campers without recompense. In most cases a Troop Leader will process with a camper first to find suitable solutions for changing a behavior. A camper will be warned that continued infractions and/or dangerous or abusive actions will result in going home early. Should the behavior continue after this, the Troop Leader will call a camper’s parents whereby the possibility of a camper being dismissed will be discussed or initiated based in the severity of the problem.

What is your Covid-19 Summer Camp Practices?

Discover After School, Inc. is committed to the safety and well-being of our families, students, and staff. In efforts to provide a safe, quality, and fun summer camp experience for our students the following practices have been implemented to ensure safety as directed by the CDC and government officials: Student valet drop-off and pick-up will be used to sign students in and out of the program each day. This practice reduces the amount of people getting out of their cars and physically coming inside the building, thus reducing germ spread. Temperature checks will be conducted each morning apon student arrival. For at least the month of June, parents or guardians dropping-off or picking-up students will be required to wear a face mask. Additionally, all Discover After School camp staff will be required to wear face masks as well. As suggested by the CDC Discover After School will follow a 10:1 student to staff ratio. For every ten students a separate classroom or designated area will be used for group activities. In efforts to increase student safety, Discover After School will only use on-site field trips this summer to reduce germ exposure to our students and staff. We have arranged for numerous on campus activities to be brought to the camp. Lastly, as an extra layer of precaution Discover After School has contracted a cleaning company to sanitize all touch points, equipment, and additional shared items throughout the week. Discover After School will continue to monitor the guidance and direction of the CDC, government, and county officials. Our student safety remains our top priority as we focus on providing them a sense of normalcy, and security.
